MRi Product Name Change

Many of MRi's product's have an additional /R on the end, this is to certify RoHS compliancy.
Please update your systems accordingly, we are flexible to your needs, but it can cause delay in your order and your Warehouse may not accept the goods. All our newer range of products will not implement the additional /R as they are supplied under RoHS as standard.
To aid your compliance we have made this file as a consise list of all the changes.

RoHS Explained

For those becoming confused with the confusing issue of RoHS compliance, MRi have decided to shed a little light on the subject
On the 1st of July 2006 the EU RoHS compliance comes into effect in the UK. The RoHS Directive stands for "the Restriction of use of Hazardous Substances". This will affect all electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. To find out more about how RoHS affects you, in conjunction with MRi products, please click here.
Further information on the RoHS directive can be found here.
And for the final report on the enforcement of RoHS is here.

May 23rd 2006 WHOLE NEW SERIAL (ATA) II RANGE INTRODUCED

With many systems updating from the slower Parallel ATA devices to the new and evolving Serial ATA transports, there is no need to update the whole motherboard with MRi’s NEW SATA controller range. Choose from either PCI-X or PCIe SATA II technologies. And take the strain off your chipset to connect your hard drives into a RAID setup, fully supporting RAID 0 (stripping for speed) and RAID 1 (mirroring for reliability) or 0+1 (best of both). Sign up to our Newsletter to find out how you can set this up in Junes issue. And check out our SATA page to see the complete range.
