This RS232 Card provides an industry standard RS232 COM port over 1 PCI slot. The fast UART gives this card a guaranteed transfer rate up to 115Kbps.

The MRI-PCISS/R RS232 serial card leverages the Plug & Play capability defined in the PCI 2.2 bus specification. This card implements one 16C550 UARTs containing 32-byte FIFO buffers. It has a clock-multiplying feature allowing the board to achieve data rates as high as 115Kbps. The high clock speeds and deep FIFO will greatly reduce CPU overhead, making this card an ideal choice for heavy multi-tasking environments.

The single channel is addressed in a 32 byte I/O block for simplified software access and utilises one PCI interrupt. An interrupt status register is available for determining the interrupt source. All PCI registers are properly implemented, and users can be assured that it will be a good citizen over your PCI bus.
