This MRi RS-232 PCI boards utilises a single PCI slot to provide 8 independent asynchronous serial ports that share a single interrupt. All PCI registers are properly implemented, so you can be assured that these boards will be good citizens over the PCI bus. Serial port connections are made via DB-9 male connectors using a fan out cable minimising utilised space in your low profile machine.

The boards are implemented with 16C950 UARTs containing 128-byte FIFOs. They use a clock multiplying feature allowing the to achieve data rates as high as 920 Kbps. To maintain maximum signal integrity, MRi uses a four-layer board design for more protection in industrial environments.
