Serial ATA II is a high-speed serial link replacement for the parallel ATA attachment of mass storage devices. It is backward compatible with the current Serial ATA specifications. The serial link employed is a high-speed differential layer that utilizes Gigabit technology and 8b/10b encoding. The current data rate is 3.0Gb/s (=300MB/s).
The built-in Silicon Image chip provides deep FIFOs, watch dog, 133MHz PCI-X transfer features and complete software driver and RAID KIT. It is the right choice for a PCI to Serial ATA II versatile devices.
